چکیده
Increasing the quality factor (Q-factor) of an optical resonator device has been a research focus utilized in various applications. Higher Q-factor means light is confined longer time which will produce sharper peak and higher transmission. In this paper, we introduce novel technique to further increase one-dimensional photonic crystal (1D PhC) cavity by using end loop-mirror (ELM). The utilizes recycles transmitted from conventional 1D PhC design. design proven work 2.5D FDTD simulation with Lumerical MODE software. By ELM technique, shown up 79.53% initial Q value without ELM. experimental result shows that measurable adding Y-branch component one-port structure able get high result. This can be combined any very designs more values devices or other suitable devices.

High-Quality Factor Suspended-Wire 1D Photonic Crystal Micro-cavity in Silicon-on-Insulator
We present a comparison of high Q-factor tapered membrane-type onedimensional photonic crystal micro-cavities embedded in photonic wire waveguides based on silicon-on-insulator (SOI). Q-factor values as large as 24,000 have been measured, together with normalized transmission of 67%: an improvement in the Q-factor value in comparison with previous results obtained on structures with silicon cor...

Using the transfer matrix method, the effect of temperature on thetransmission spectra of thermal tunable nano metallic photonic crystal filter has beeninvestigated. Three different materials H (high refractive index material), L (lowrefractive index material) and M as a metallic layer, have been used to make thisstructure. M layer is considered to be Silver. The complex refractive index of Sil...
متن کاملHigh-Q side-coupled semi-2D-photonic crystal cavity
High-Q semi-2D-photonic crystal cavities with a tapered edge and side-coupled bus waveguide are demonstrated. With a quadratic design, the unloaded cavity presents a theoretical ultrahigh quality factor up to 6.7 × 10(7) for the condition that there are mere 34 holes in the propagated direction, which is pretty close to the 2D and 1D counterpart. Combined with a side-coupled bus waveguide, an a...
متن کاملOptimization of the Q Factor in Photonic Crystal Microcavities
We express the quality factor of a mode in terms of the Fourier transforms of its field components and prove that the reduction in radiation loss can be achieved by suppressing the mode’s wavevector components within the light cone. Although this is intuitively clear, our analytical proof gives us insight into how to achieve the factor optimization, without the mode delocalization. We focus on ...
